Nick McGlashan, a famous crab fisherman and reality show personality was born on August 1, 1988 in Akutan, Alaska. He was a native of the state and belonged to the white ethnicity. He was a seventh generation crab fisherman and was quite familiar with the ocean life as he had been in it since childhood. He was an expert in catching crabs and was also a deck boss on Discovery’s Deadliest Catch. He was also involved in its spin-offs such as The Bait, Greenhorn, and Captain vs. Captain.
He became a people’s favourite due to his happy and positive attitude on the show. He used to make the other crabbers laugh on board and was very entertaining for the viewers. He was a devoted catholic and used religion as his strength to fight against his addictions. He loved to travel and adored his pet Siberian Husky named Kiska. He was a big fan of Bruce Lee and visited his grave in 2016.
In his personal life, he had a daughter named Lennyn McGlashan who is a school girl. Sadly, McGlashan passed away on 27 December 2020 in his Nashville house due to drug overdose.
McGlashan was suffering from alcohol and drug abuse and had entered rehab during the 13th season of the show. His health report revealed that his white blood cell was high, which could have possibly led to cancer. However, he did not show any signs of cancer after the diagnosis and died of drug overdose.
