Stranger Things is an iconic show on Netflix. It premiered in 2016, with the final season currently filming. The show stars Winona Ryder and David Harbour. As well as Finn Wolfhard and Millie Bobby Brown. Taking place during the 1980’s in the small town of Hawkins, IN, the show is immediately nostalgic, with inspiration from Steven Spielberg, John Carpenter and Stephen King. The show consists of a great adult cast, as well as an incredible young cast, and incorporates adventure, mystery and supernatural storylines. It’s funny and scary, sad and hopeful. There are many beloved things about this show, like the Byers’ house itself, which most of the first season takes place in. While the interior of the home may be filmed elsewhere, the exterior is a real home that is still standing and is often visited. Check out the real Byers Stranger Things house below.
The Byers' house from the show Stranger Things is located in the fictional town of Hawkins, IN, however the real house is located in Fayetteville, GA. It was built in 1900 and features three bedrooms and two bathrooms, over 1,846 sq ft of space. The home may be quaint, but it sits on over six acres of land and even has a nice size detached shed. Parking is open, with a gravel driveway. Because of the love of the show, the home is often visited by fans wanting to glimpse the real exterior of the Byers' house. While the exterior is the same, the interior needs a lot of renovations. It was recently sold on November 10, 2022 for $400,000. I have to wonder if the new owners made the purchase for the love of the show, and are planning to capitalize off the fan's obsession with visiting. Much like the long time fan who recently purchased the real life Goonies house, and wishes to turn it into a tour of some kind. Speaking of The Goonies, Sean Astin starred in that classic ‘80s movie, as well as the soon to be classic Stranger Things. Small world.

The great thing about this home is the amount of land that comes with it. Down the gravel driveway you pass the detached shed, until you come right up to the main house. It's a one-story home, with a charming porch.

It’s so cool to be able to see the real life house that appears in Stranger Things. I do wonder what the real interior looks like, and what sort of renovations the new owners are bound to do.
