When He's All That premiered on Netflix in August 2021, it catapulted TikTok star Addison Rae into the limelight. The film is a gender-swapped remake of She's All That that stars the Louisiana native as popular social media influencer Padgett Sawyer. She makes a bet with her best friend to turn her high school loser classmate Cameron Kweller into prom king, but the project proves to be more complicated than she expected. The film also stars Tanner Buchanan as Cameron, Rachael Leigh Cook as Mrs. Sawyer, Madison Pettis as Alden, and Peyton Meyer as Jordan Van Draanen.

The film was largely filmed in Los Angeles, with a few sequences shot outside the city. The majority of the story unfolds on the premises of a school, and a lot of exterior shots were filmed at Ulysses S. Grant High School at 13000 Oxnard Street in the Valley Glen neighborhood of Los Angeles. The crew filmed in the auditorium, classrooms, and library of the school, and also used a few other nearby locations to recreate the campus.

The teen movie also filmed at a couple of beach houses and in a studio. The house where the movie's main character lives was actually a home in Oakland that is now used as a women's shelter. The house was formerly a historic landmark and had horror tours, but it has since been converted into a safe haven for those in need. It was a perfect location to film a movie about a high school crush that turns into something much more.
