Hilary Farr and David Visentin have been renovating homes on HGTV’s Love It or List It for over a decade now. Since the show’s debut in 2008, they’ve given a fresh look to many homes throughout Ontario and North Carolina.
In every episode, the show’s subjects (usually a couple or family) bring their home to Farr and Visentin’s attention. Visentin works his real estate magic while Farr uses her design skills to rework the house so it better fits the homeowners’ needs. Once the renovations are complete, the couple must decide whether to stay in the reworked house or list it in hopes of finding a new one.
As the show grows in popularity, people are increasingly curious about the behind-the-scenes of the hit show. While the specifics of the format vary from episode to episode, there’s one constant: the filming locations.
Love It or List It is produced by Big Coat Productions and first premiered on 8 September 2008. It’s currently in its sixteenth season, proving that people still love to watch Hilary Farr and David Visentin work their magic.
Initially, the entire show was filmed in Toronto and the surrounding areas of Ontario, Canada. However, in 2014, according to Pop Sugar, the show began to shoot episodes in the U.S. state of North Carolina. Since then, the show has been restricted to the Research Triangle and Raleigh-Durham area of the state. However, the show has spawned various spinoffs that feature homes from other locations.
