If you’re a fan of Pawn Stars or American Pickers, then you’ll love this thrifty Netflix show about locals keeping their ears open to a local radio station’s announcement of sweet deals on quirky items. From mannequin parts to a creepy clown statue, the cast keeps their eyes peeled for bargains on items that can be sold for a profit.
WRGS, the radio station that hosts the show, was founded in East Tennessee in 1957. So it’s no surprise that the Netflix series was also filmed in the state. According to Debbie Beal, the General Manager of WRGS, the production team used Rogersville, Knoxville, Johnson City, Greeneville, and Clinton as filming locations for the show.
In addition to the abovementioned cities, a few locations outside of East Tennessee were also utilized for the filming of the show. For example, the team reportedly visited a farm in Gray, Kentucky, and a clothing store in Atlanta, Georgia.
The six episodes of Swap Shop that have already been released are teeming with exhilaration and enjoyment. It’s clear that the show has managed to capture a separate fan base, and a lot of people are eagerly waiting for the next season of the series. But, it’s important to note that Netflix hasn’t decided on whether or not the series will get a third season.
