In THE BUREAU OF MAGICAL THINGS, an evening jog through the woods proves fateful for Kyra (Kimie Tsukakoshi), who discovers that she is one of the world’s rare tri-lings—equal parts elf, fairy, and human. Her newfound abilities lead her to join Professor Maxwell’s class, where she learns about the complex magical world around her.
The first season of the Australian teen drama, which premiered on Network Ten in July 2018, was an instant hit and landed on Netflix globally in 2021. Since then, fans have been asking when the second season of the series will be released. Fortunately, the show was renewed for a second season back in November 2019 and production is currently underway.
The show is filmed in locations across Australia, but the main setting is located in the fictional town of Briarwood. The series was created by Jonathan M. Shiff and co-developed by Mark Shirrefs. The first season of the show was produced by Madman Entertainment and distributed internationally by Netflix.
The cast of the show is rounded out by experienced actors Christopher Sommers, Nicholas Bell, Steve Nation, Paul Bishop, and Tasneem Roc. The show also features a host of talented young actors, including Elizabeth Cullen and Mia Milnes (both of whom are sisters in real life) as Imogen and Darra respectively. It’s also worth mentioning that the series is helmed by award-winning director Martha Goddard.
