The popular Fox game show Beat Shazam is filmed in Dublin, Ireland. The show pits teams of two players against the clock and each other as they attempt to identify a series of hit songs, banking money for each correct answer. The highest-scoring team then goes head-to-head with the song identification app Shazam for a chance to win the grand prize of $1 million.
Jamie Foxx, who has hosted the show since its 2017 launch and also serves as an executive producer, has been hospitalized in Atlanta with a “medical emergency.” His daughter Corinne is the show’s DJ but she won’t appear on new episodes as she remains by her father’s side, according to TMZ. Sources reportedly tell the website they’re asking fans to keep sending prayers and well wishes for the Oscar winner as he recovers.
Nick Cannon has stepped in to host the remainder of Beat Shazam’s sixth season while Foxx heals up. “Everyone at Fox Entertainment wishes Jamie the best as he continues his recovery and we greatly appreciate Nick’s willingness to jump in and help this summer,” the network said in a statement.
