Billions is a gripping show about the world of hedge fund billionaires and how they manipulate their way through the legal system. The show stars Damian Lewis as Bobby Axelrod, the head of Axe Capital and a brash and ruthless tycoon, and Paul Giamatti as US Attorney Chuck Rhoades who investigates his questionable acts. The series also features Corey Stoll, Malin Akerman, Maggie Siff, Daniel K. Isaac, Janeane Garofolo, Condola Rashad and Jeffrey DeMunn.
One of the most interesting aspects about this series is that a lot of the locations in which scenes are filmed actually exist in real life. The show is filmed in many areas including New York City and Orangeburg. Below is a list of all the places that have been used in the show.
The Axe Capital headquarters on season 2 of the series is actually a former Olympus camera building in Rockland County. The company rented out the space for a couple of weeks in September and October to shoot some scenes. The production made some changes to the building and added decorations that make it look more like Axe’s office.
In a letter sent to businesses and residents in the area, the Billions production team said they work closely with the New York City Mayor’s Office for Film, Theater and Broadcasting as well as the NYPD. The production also works with the New York State Department of Labor and Worker’s Compensation Board to ensure that all the necessary permits are in place.
