With its breathtaking scenery, it's no wonder that the Lake District was chosen as the filming location for ITV's new drama Deep Water. Based on the Windermere series of books, this drama follows three women (played by Sinead Keenan, Rosalind Eleazar and Emmy-award winner Anna Friel) as they navigate family life and big decisions. We took a look at where some of the show's dramatic scenes were filmed to find out more about this beautiful part of England's landscape.
H20 is an Australian television show created by Jonathan M. Shiff that originally screened on Australia's Network Ten in 2006. It's since gone on to air in over 120 countries around the world and has also spawned multiple spin offs including Mako Island and H2O: Mermaid Adventures. The show revolves around three teenage girls who face everyday teen problems with an added twist: they are mermaids with powers over water.
Phoebe Tonkin plays Cleo, a shy girl who doesn't like water at all but discovers she has the ability to control and mould the shape of water as well as increase or decrease its amount. She appears in all series of the show.
Claire Holt plays Emma, a responsible and optimistic girl who discovers she has the power to freeze water. She appears in series one and two but left to film a movie.
The house from the show is located in Brockman, a working-class suburb on the eastern shore of Lake Windermere. It's a 10-minute drive to Staveley Primary School which was used as the set for Kim's school and where the mothers gather to pick up their children. You can also visit the Bluebird Cafe which was used as a set for Kate's cafe and is actually located in the pretty village of Hawkshead.
