Where is Knife Or Death Filmed?

Forged in Fire: Knife or Death, a spinoff of History Channel's Forged in Fire series, puts top bladesmiths, extreme athletes and knife experts through obstacle courses. And the best way to experience these grueling tests of precision, strength and blade sharpness is by visiting some of the locations in which they were filmed.

The majority of the movie takes place at Thrombey's home, an extravagant Gothic revival mansion that looks exactly like it would be the domain of a crazed murder mystery novelist. But director Rian Johnson didn't just pick any old house for the location. Instead, he turned to Hill Hurst, a private home located in Hunnewell Estates in Natick, for most of the exterior shots. And he used the Ames Mansion, part of the Borderland State Park in Easton, for the interior scenes.

One of the film's most amusing idiosyncracies is Marta's seeming inability to lie without spilling her guts. This becomes apparent when she's asked whether Harlan had ever cheated on her, and tells the truth without hesitation.

But it's not just Marta's aversion to lying that makes her so compelling as a character. It's also her innate need to be the center of attention, and this is never more evident than when she's trying to manipulate her bickering family members for her own benefit.
