While it’s no secret that the firefighters on Station 19 are brave, bold – and oh-so-sexy – the show also reveals a lot of their personal lives. From their complicated relationships to their struggles with health issues, it’s no wonder that fans are drawn to the show.
The ABC drama series, created by Stacy McKee and Shonda Rhimes, premiered on March 22, 2018 and is currently in its fifth season. It follows the story of the men and women who work at Seattle Fire Station 19, which exists in the same fictional universe as Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital from NBC’s hit medical drama Grey’s Anatomy.
The majority of the show is filmed in Los Angeles, which is one of the biggest TV production hubs in the country along with New York City. However, the exteriors of the firehouse are filmed at a real Seattle firehouse called Station 20 in Interbay and some scenes are filmed at Occidental Square.
For the first three seasons, a few scenes were filmed in Seattle. However, since the production team wanted to keep the budget low for the fourth and fifth season, they decided to film in California.
Station 19 stars Jaina Lee Ortiz as Andy Samberg, Grey Damon as Fire Chief Jack Gibson, Barrett Doss as Lieutenant Ben Warren, Okieriete Onaodowan as Captain Ryan Tanner, Danielle Savre as Lt. Maya Deluca-Bishop, and Miguel Sandoval as Lt. Pruitt Herrera among others. The show is airs Thursday nights on ABC, right after Grey’s Anatomy.
