Sweet Tooth is an incredible new show that’s already grabbing viewers’ attention. It follows a boy who is half deer and half human and survives in a post-apocalyptic world after being born with the ability to create hybrid babies. The series premiered on June 4, but it was actually filmed back in 2019. Filming was delayed for a while due to Covid, but it finally got back underway this year.
The production team for the show chose to shoot most of the show in New Zealand. Auckland is the country’s largest city, and it was used for many scenes. The production team was also able to film at the Auckland Zoo for some of the action that takes place in the series.
Some of the other locations used in the show include Queenstown, which is located in the Otago region on New Zealand’s South Island. The city was used for some of the scenes where Amy and Jepperd are building a safe haven for hybrids.
The rest of the series was filmed in various places around New Zealand. Most of the interior scenes were shot at Pinewood Studios in Wellington. Other exterior scenes were filmed in Wellington, Tauranga, and Hamilton. The cast for the show includes Christian Convery (Gus), Nonso Anozie (Tommy Jepperd), Adeel Akhtar (Dr. Aditya Singh), Stefania LaVie Owen (Bear), Dania Ramirez (Aimee), and Neil Sandilands (General Steven Abbot). The show’s production was handled by a number of people, including director and New Zealander Toa Fraser.
