Various spots in Port Perry, Toronto and Pickering come together to bring to life the small town of this thriller. From diners to jails to motels, these locations will surely impress fans of the show.

Reacher is a wandering soul with no permanent home. He sticks his thumb out for a ride on a bus and ends up in the town of Margrave, where he witnesses a brutal murder at a local diner. After a short chat with Roscoe, Reacher decides to get involved. He gets arrested for his trouble and put in prison with Paul Hubble, who confesses to the crime he didn’t commit.

At the prison, Reacher gets to know his cellmate, a former Russian soldier named Zek Chelovek (played by Martin Cash). Zek explains that he killed a corrupt businessman in order to keep a low-level job at a construction company. He adds that an American prison would be easy compared to his previous incarceration in Siberia.

When the town’s mayor, Grover Teale, is murdered after refusing to take care of Hubble, Reacher and Finlay team up to investigate the case. After a vicious fight with Teale, Reacher punches him and then tries to arrest Hubble’s brother. But Spivey, the crooked sheriff, gets in the way and forces Reacher to break into the police station and kill him.
