If you’re a fan of the hit Netflix thriller You, then it’s likely that you’ve been dying to visit some of the show’s filming locations. While past seasons of You were filmed across the US in California and New York, season four saw Joe Goldberg (Penn Badgley) start his European chapter in London.
The city of sex, theatre, and books certainly delivered as the perfect backdrop for Joe’s new life in England. But, as the murderous astrophysics professor continues to make his way around town, he’s met by a cast of colorful characters – including art gallery manager Kate (Fresh Meat’s Charlotte Ritchie), socialite Lady Phoebe (Tilly Keeper), artist Simon (Aiden Cheng), influencer Sophie (Niccy Lin), and spoiled rich girl Gemma (Eve Austin).
Along with the usual landmarks you might recognise from the city (St Pancras Station, Notting Hill, Commercial Tavern), many of the show’s locations are not well-known. For instance, the tense scene between Joe and Rhys that took place on an unnamed London bridge was actually filmed over at Royal Victoria Dock – a huge industrial area located over in East London’s Docklands, right by the ExCel centre and London City Airport.
Knebworth House in Hertfordshire also makes a comeback as Hampsie House, the country retreat for Joe’s new friend Lady Phoebe. Other You filming locations you might recognise include 131 East 19th St (Beck’s apartment), 1575 York Ave (Logos Bookstore), 1814 N Vermont Avenue (Skylight Books), and the Veterans Memorial Park in Nyack, New York.
