Chaz Bono is an American author, musician, and LGBT activist. He is the son of singer and actress Cher and Sonny Bono, and is known for his transition from female to male in 2008, which he documented publicly. Bono has written two books, released several albums, and starred in a number of movies and television shows. He also works as a writer for The Advocate, and has competed on the show Dancing with the Stars.
Born as Chastity Sun Bono, Chaz Bono was the only child of Cher and Sonny Bono, who formed the music duo Sonny & Cher. He grew up in the spotlight, appearing on his parents’ variety show as a youngster. Later in life, he became an actor and appeared in many movies. He also wrote for The Advocate and served as the organization’s Entertainment Media Director.
Throughout his career, he has been a strong supporter of LGBTQ rights and is a vocal advocate for the community. He has campaigned for the Human Rights Campaign and promoted National Coming Out Day. He has spoken out against the Defense of Marriage Act, and fought for equal treatment for transgender people.
In the past, he has been in relationships with Jennifer Elia and Michelle Rounds. Currently, he is dating Shara Blue Mathes. They are both passionate individuals and have developed a close relationship over the years. They have become a great team and are making great progress. The pair is also involved in charitable work.
