Dancing With the Stars - Where is it Filmed?

October 11, 2023

Dancing With The Stars is a popular TV show where celebrities are paired with professional dancers and compete in themed choreographed dance routines. The American spinoff of the British series Strictly Come Dancing first premiered in 2005 and has become a worldwide phenomenon and source of constant watercooler conversation. Many fans wonder where DWTS is filmed, so we’ve put together this article to provide an overview of the filming locations for the hit ABC reality competition.

The show is primarily filmed at the CBS Television City studios in Los Angeles, California. The facility is also home to other television shows such as The Price Is Right, Wheel of Fortune, and Hollywood Squares.

In the past, DWTS has also been filmed at other studios in Hollywood including Blackpool Tower and Wembley Arena. The 30th season of the televised dancing competition is currently underway and features a diverse cast of celebrities that includes Cheryl Burke, Mark Ballas, Artem Chigvintsev, Alan Bersten, Emma Slater, Peta Murgatroyd, and Val Chmerkovskiy.

This season of the show is a little different than usual, however. Due to strict COVID-19 protocols in place, only a limited number of audience members can attend live tapings and there are a lot more safety precautions for the pro dancers. For example, couples who are dating or married can't live together on the set and have to see each other only during their performances.

In addition to being a great way to exercise and stay in shape, DWTS is also a fun and exciting activity for the whole family. The entire production is a blast to watch and the studio audience is always so dressed up! If you are interested in attending a taping, please be sure to make arrangements in advance as tickets are required and are not available for purchase at the door. Also, the studio is a non-phone zone so please leave your phones at home or in your car.
