Mat Ishbia is an American billionaire. He is the CEO and chairman of the mortgage lender group, United Wholesale Mortgage. As well as the majority owner of the Phoenix Suns and Phoenix Mercury basketball teams. Born and raised in Michigan, Mat has an unbelievable net worth of about $4.5 billion. He achieved billionaire status in 2021 when his mortgage company became a publicly traded company. Mat is obviously wealthy, which enables him to give back. In 2021 he donated $32 million to Michigan State University. He also donated $1 million to the V Foundation for cancer research. Mat Ishbia is in the process of building the largest occupied home in Michigan, estimated to be about 60,000 sq ft of space. In order to do so, he is tearing down five houses that sat on the 14 acre lot. One of those homes is a 22,000 sq ft home that was his primary residence. That residence was built after demolishing two ranch style houses. It seems that Mat has a pattern. His plans for the new house, or rather, estate, include an amusement park. He approached the zoning committee with his plans to also build an electric go kart track, although neighbors voted no on that. However, money tends to talk so Mat may just get his wish. Other plans for the estate include a trampoline park, a basketball court, a 14 ft tall climbing wall, as well as a pool with a 14 ft tall waterfall. I thought that Mark Cuban's Dallas estate would have been the perfect quarantine spot, however I might have to rethink that.
