Sharon Stone is a highly gifted actress who was academically intelligent from an early age, enrolling in second grade at the age of five. Born in Meadville, Pennsylvania, she studied at Edinboro University of Pennsylvania where she participated in beauty pageants and won the title of Miss Crawford County, and was a candidate for the state of Pennsylvania before one of the judges encouraged her to move to New York City to pursue fashion modeling. Stone signed a contract with Ford Modeling agency and featured in numerous commercials for fast food chains and cosmetics brands.
Stone’s acting career began with a small role in Woody Allen’s film Stardust Memories in 1980. She quickly jumped from there into a variety of roles. Her willingness to take on different genres of movies helped her gain a steady footing in the industry. Her first taste of blockbuster success would come in 1990 when she starred alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger in the sci-fi action film Total Recall.
Her performance in the film cemented her position as a leading lady. Stone continued to deliver a plethora of critically acclaimed performances and earned many accolades along the way including an Oscar nomination for her role in the 1992 film Casino. She has also delivered a slew of memorable roles in TV shows and films including, The Practice, War and Remembrance, and T.J. Hooker.
In addition to her prolific acting career, Stone has also started producing her own films under her production company Chaos Productions. The mother of three adopted sons, Roan, Laird and Quinn also spends her time working with several philanthropic organizations raising awareness about issues like HIV/AIDS and women’s health. Stone’s savvy business sense and lucrative endorsement deals have boosted her net worth over the years.
