AEW Dark is a show where wrestling talent gets an opportunity to showcase their skills in front of a live crowd. The show has been a good place for the company to give talent that hasn’t been featured on a regular AEW show a chance to shine. It also allows fans to see a performer that they might want to watch again in the future.
For a while, AEW had been taping AEW Dark and AEW Dark: Elevation at Universal Studios every week before or after the live AEW show Rampage and Dynamite. It seems like AEW has changed that up for the time being though.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, AEW will be taping the B-level YouTube shows outside of the normal AEW arenas for the time being. AEW will still tape both AEW Dark and AEW Dark: Elevation at the studio in Orlando, Florida, but they’ll do it on special taping days instead of just before or after the regular AEW shows.
As for this round of AEW Dark tapings, Fightful’s Kaden Lee was on hand to capture the action. The highlights include Jarrett, Singh, and Lethal defeating Jackson Drake, Oliver Sawyer, and Lee Johnson. Starkz made her AEW debut in this set of tapings, losing to Red Velvet and Britt Baker. However, she could be in line for a bigger opportunity down the road. Other matches included the rematch of the defending champions, The Iron Savages (Boulder & Bronson) beating The Wingmen (Cezar Bononi & Ryan Nemeth), and the debuting Baddie, AJ Styles, defeating Diamante.
