Since 2013, fans have watched yacht employees deal with high-maintenance guests and each other on Below Deck, a series that has spawned multiple spinoffs. The latest to join the franchise is Below Deck Down Under, which follows a crew of yachties on the M/Y Northern Sun during charter season in Australia. While many familiar faces will return for the upcoming season, it also looks like the crew has a new captain and a few other new members. But when did the cast film the newest episodes of Below Deck Down Under?
According to a Bravo release, the second season of the show premieres on Monday, July 17. But for those who don’t have cable, the episodes will air the following day on streaming service Peacock.
The debut season of Below Deck Down Under filmed in the Whitsunday Islands and Great Barrier Reef, which are located off the coast of Queensland, Australia. The M/Y Thalassa was the vessel used for the first season, but it was replaced for Season 2 with the M/Y Northern Sun. And while it’s been a little tricky to pin down exactly when the crew filmed, several of them have shared some clues on social media.
For example, stew Magda Ziomek posted a photo on Instagram in May that implied the crew was getting ready to leave Australia. And chef Ryan McKeown’s June post from the Whitsunday Islands National Park also hints that the yacht left the country in late June. Considering the stunning blue waters and gorgeous scenery seen in every episode, it’s no wonder the show is so popular.
