In the world of DIY disasters, there are few experts better suited to help than HGTV star Jasmine Roth. In the show’s new season, which premiered during the COVID-19 shutdown and is titled “Where is I Wrecked My House?” Roth helps families whose DIY projects have gone horribly wrong. Roth says the series was inspired by her own experience with DIY mishaps.
One of the first episodes features a family that turned a simple kitchen renovation into a months-long nightmare, with the family living out of suitcases at their in-laws’ home. Roth and her team come in to help bring the renovation back on track. Filming took place in Charleston, South Carolina.
Kildare Island is divided into two territories: the wealthy Kooks live in Figure 8 and the scrappy Pogues live in the Cut. The two factions often clash, especially when the preppy Kooks go drinking with the clueless Pogues. The Boneyard, a local beach hangout, is where the Kooks and Pogues get together to party. It was filmed at Hunting Island State Park, a coastal sanctuary known for its lighthouse, beaches and nature trails.
The Kooks’ beachfront vacation rental was filmed at the Seabrook Island Beach Club in South Carolina. The episode also featured scenes filmed in Nassau, Bahamas, where John B and Sarah escape Captain Terrance’s ship while it’s sailing to Nassau. Those scenes were shot on the picturesque Cattlewash Beach.
