Shot before the pandemic started, this new Corona campaign from MullenLowe LA features Snoop and pals Andy Samberg and Karol G enjoying a laid-back day at the beach while they sip Corona Extra beers. The commercials, which will appear during this week’s NBA playoffs, feature the three celebrities engaging in some lighthearted slapstick comedy that’s sure to make fans laugh out loud.
In the first spot, Snoop and friend Andy try to teach each other how to slow down, kick back and enjoy “La Vida Mas Fina,” or the finer things in life. But it turns out mastering the laid-back lifestyle isn’t easy, as the pair discover in a series of hilarious exchanges.
The 2023 ads are filmed in Akumal, which is located on the Yucatn Peninsula of Mexico. Known for its beautiful white sand beaches, Akumal is also a popular destination for tourists and locals looking to unwind. The shoot for the new Corona Commercial with Snoop and Bad Bunny was directed by Joao Claus, who says he wanted to capture the authentic feel of the location and the beer’s “Find Your Beach” tagline. He worked with both Snoop and Bad Bunny to visualize the story, exploring gestures and poses that would best express their personalities.
The commercial features the duo laughing, interacting, and dancing to the song, “The Whodini Megamix” by Whodini. According to Forbes, Snoop’s latest endorsement deal with Corona is worth $10 million. He previously earned over $40 million from his career as a rapper and his role in the Dunkin’ Donuts campaign.
