The Netflix Original series Welcome to Eden is a thriller that doesn’t only thrill with its intriguing plot and surprising new twists but also delights the eyes thanks to its beautiful and architecturally impressive headquarters. And while the fictional island where Astrid’s fabricated paradise is set does not exist, it’s actually based on some real places in Spain.
In the eight-episode series, Zoa accepts an invitation on social media to an exclusive party on a secret island and finds herself trapped with four other young people in a community that isn’t quite what it promises to be. Created by Joaquin Gorriz and Guillermo Lopez Sanchez, the Spanish-language series (also known as Bienvenidos a Eden) stars Amaia Aberasturi, Berta Castane, Albert Baro, Lola Rodriguez, and more.
Filming for the series took place mainly in Puerto del Carmen, Barcelona, Teruel, and San Sebastian in Spain. The picturesque landscape of the Canary Islands and the cityscape of Barcelona make for the perfect backdrop for the show’s countless breathtaking shots.
In the first episode of season 2, which aired on May 6, Astrid’s paradise is on the verge of crashing down. Ulises, Eden Foundation’s head of security, is found dead and Astrid wants justice. Luckily, Zoa’s little sister Gabi arrives on the island, while Charly sneaks into Eden’s technology room and reaches what she believes to be a rescue boat. Meanwhile, Astrid has other problems to worry about, including her own martial issues with Danae and a failed rebellion led by Zoa and Bel.
