Chris Hansen is a well-known television personality who has made his name in true crime journalism. The journalist is best known for his work on To Catch a Predator, which helped expose online predators and led to the arrests of numerous criminals. His impactful work has earned him a huge following, and his dedication to journalism has left an indelible mark on society.
Hansen started his career in broadcast journalism as a reporter for a local newspaper in Michigan, where he worked during his undergraduate degree at Michigan State University. He then moved to Tampa and Detroit after graduation, where he reported for local NBC affiliates. From there, Hansen made a big leap forward when he got a job on NBC's "Now" as a national correspondent, which was followed by his work on Dateline and To Catch a Predator.
During his time as a TV host and journalist, Hansen has won several awards. He has received eight Emmy awards, four Edward R. Murrow awards, three Clarion Awards, an Overseas Press Club award, an IRE, and a National Press Club award, as well as honors from both the Associated Press and United Press International.
Hansen's family life has also been a source of controversy. He has been married twice and has two sons. In June 2018, his wife Mary filed for divorce, and he was evicted from his New York City apartment in January of 2019. He is currently dating Gabrielle, and the couple lives in Oklahoma City. He still hosts a weekly podcast on YouTube, Have a Seat with Chris Hansen, where he interviews various guests and covers topics in news and culture.
