Mike Piazza is an American former professional baseball catcher who played 16 seasons in Major League Baseball (MLB) from 1992 to 2007. He played for the New York Mets, Los Angeles Dodgers, Florida Marlins, and San Diego Padres.
Piazza is widely considered one of the greatest offensive catchers in baseball history. He was named to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2016. He also holds the distinction of being the first player to hit 500 home runs and 4,000 hits during his career.
He was the catcher on the winning team in the first game held after 9/11 and his famous 8th-inning home run has been described as iconic, therapeutic, and symbolic. The jersey he wore in that game is now displayed on a rotating basis at the 9/11 Memorial Museum, Citi Field, and the National Baseball Hall of Fame.
In addition to his illustrious MLB career, Piazza has become a successful businessman and investor. He currently owns several businesses, including a restaurant chain, a winery, and a production company. In addition, he is the co-founder and CEO of a sports agency called Octagon.
Piazza has been married to Playboy playmate Alicia Rickter since January 29, 2005. The couple has two daughters, Nicoletta and Paulina, and a son, Marco. The couple lives in Miami. Piazza is a big fan of heavy metal music and appeared on Black Label Society’s 2002 album, “Stronger Than Death”. The pair are members of the St. Jude Catholic Church in Miami.
