The 42-year-old was born on 24 May 1979 in Bartow, Florida and attended Auburndale High School before transferring to Durham, North Carolina’s Mount Zion Christian Academy for his final year of high school. McGrady was selected in the 1997 NBA draft by the Toronto Raptors with the ninth overall pick, and quickly established himself as a star.
