Where is Blown Away Season 2 Filmed?

November 21, 2023

The reality competition series Blown Away puts the skills of 10 glass artists to the test in a high-stakes battle to create mesmerizing works of art. Hosted by YouTube star Nick Uhas and renowned glass artist Katherine Gray, the show takes viewers on a journey into the complicated process of creating art in glass.

While competitive glassblowing may not sound like the most thrilling concept for a television show, Season 1 of Blown Away proved that the intricate craft is more than worthy of a reality TV format. In addition to displaying the technical skill required for glass artistry, the show celebrates the absurdist humor that is so prevalent in the world of art.

Unlike other reality shows that encourage contestants to outwit and outplay each other, Blown Away is more in line with the gentle arts and crafts shows like The Great British Baking Show. Even the most blatantly hateable characters on the show have a soft side that shows through at least occasionally.

In order to film the show, Canadian production company Marblemedia had a tough challenge to overcome. They needed a large space to house the ten furnaces used in the show and all of the other glassblowing equipment that would be required for the shoot. To accomplish this, they traveled a few miles away from Toronto and transformed an empty warehouse into North America’s biggest hot shop.
