The Dukes of Hazzard is a highly popular American action comedy television series, starring the likes of Bo and Luke Duke (John Schneider & Tom Wopat), Daisy Duke (Dana Delany) & their moonshining uncle Jesse. The show aired for 147 episodes spread over 7 intriguing seasons. It is one of the most popular action TV shows of all time.
The premise of the show revolves around Bo and Luke, a pair of college-aged cousins who are on probation in Hazzard County for transporting illegal moonshine. Using their 1969 Dodge Charger, better known as “The General Lee”, they spend most of their days cruising around and foiling the crooked schemes of corrupt county commissioner Boss Hogg (Burt Reynolds).
Local mechanic Cooter Davenport (Ben Jones) is a good friend of the Dukes and owns the local garage. He is a wild rebel who often breaks or treads on the edge of the law, but later settles down to help the Dukes with their business and also become an honorary member of the family. Enos Strate (Sonny Shroyer) is the honest and naive deputy who occasionally gets pulled into the Duke boys' crooked schemes and tries to clean up the town of Hazzard.
Seasons 1-5 of the series were filmed mainly in Georgia, with some scenes being shot in the cities of Covington and Conyers. However, the production team was forced to move filming to California for the final season due to contract and merchandising issues between star actors Tom Wopat & John Schneider.
