The popular HGTV show Good Bones follows a mother-daughter team that renovates rundown homes. The series is filmed in Indianapolis, Indiana. The duo focuses on historically important neighborhoods such as Bates-Hendricks, Fountain Square, and Old Southside, which is where they both began flipping houses years before the show started filming.
While most HGTV shows have several projects going at once, Good Bones has a very tight focus. Most of the renovations are done in just a few neighborhoods in Indianapolis, according to Screen Rant. While the original show's star Mina Starsiak Hawk has a background in law, she's also been an interior designer for decades. She started her home renovation company, Two Chicks and a Hammer, with her mom Karen E. Laine in 2007.
As the Good Bones show wraps up its eight-season run, Mina has a new project lined up. She'll be taping a new series for HGTV that will feature her family. In the new show, she'll be turning an 1850s Victorian home in Fountain Square into a bed and breakfast and event center that will honor the house's history while bringing it back to life for future generations.
