Where is Missing Filmed?

From the creators of 2018's Searching comes Missing, a standalone sequel about an 18-year-old's attempt to find her missing mom. This riveting thriller uses technology (video chats, text convos, and more) as a narrative tool, making the show all the more eerily real.

The story revolves around June Ellen, a teenage girl who has the house to herself while her mother is away on vacation with her boyfriend. She throws a big party and makes the most of it, but when her mom and boyfriend don't return from their trip, June starts to get suspicious. Using her sleuthing skills and knowledge from true-crime shows, she tries to track them down.

Unlike many TV dramas that confine their actors to dank soundstages or a few square miles of exterior streetscapes, Missing takes full advantage of its global settings. From Cartagena to Los Angeles, the production is able to provide viewers with an authentic experience.

This isn't the first time the series has traveled to foreign lands for its scenes, either. The acclaimed show has also filmed in Paris, Prague, and other cities across the world.

While Missing is a mystery, there are some clues that can help you guess where the series was filmed. According to The Cinemaholic, the FOX crime series was mainly shot in the Greater Montreal Area in Quebec, Canada. Filming for the show started in September of 2022 and used outdoor shots in the area for its exteriors and MELS Studios for interiors.
