After her relationship ends, Jess Day moves into a loft with three men. This offbeat, intelligent and witty young woman quickly bonds with the men she shares a living space with. Jess’s three roommates are all single and wildly different: Nick, Schmidt, and Winston. They form a kooky family and support each other — most of the time.
Filming New Girl was primarily done in Los Angeles, California. Some scenes were filmed at the famous Fox Studios. Other locations include 3601 Appleton Street, Binford Lofts, Carondelet House, The Prince (bar exteriors), and Vasquez Rocks Natural Area Park.

Max Greenfield portrayed Schmidt, a confident marketing associate with a strong work ethic who was always able to land the girls. He moved in with Jess after the pilot episode, replacing Coach, who had vacated the room to move out to live with his girlfriend. Lamorne Morris played Winston Bishop, a former basketball player who moves into the guys’ apartment after losing his spot playing overseas basketball. He and Schmidt frequently compete for the attention of Jess.
Hannah Simone, who portrayed Cece on the series, has since been seen in movies such as Oldboy and lent her voice to the character of Spider-Man in 2017’s animated movie Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. She has also hosted a number of popular podcasts.
