There's alien dickery afoot in the New York City suburb of Beacon, where skeptical journalist Ozzie Graham (Wyatt Cenac) visits to write a story about a local support group for alleged abductees. As he investigates their oddball claims, he begins to recall similar experiences of his own.

Throughout the series, the characters face issues of racism and classism, while grappling with their own beliefs about extraterrestrial life. The show is a mix of satire and drama, with a cast that includes SNL alums Ana Gasteyer and Brian Huskey.

The filmmakers advocate smaller families, increased access to birth control and renewed investments in education — all of which can help lower the world's population to a sustainable level for our planet. While some may find the perspective a bit cold and detached, this BBC production is a fascinating and thought-provoking examination of humanity's impact on Earth.

The lush dairy farming region of Matamata in New Zealand's Waikato was used to portray Hobbiton, the peaceful Shire village from the Lord of the Rings trilogy.
