You might be wondering where is recurrence filmed. Well, it was filmed in different locations across Argentina. Especially in the province of Jujuy. In fact, a huge chunk of the movie was shot in Purmamarca and Tilcara. The filming began in October and wrapped up in early November.
The story of the movie is about Manuela ‘Pipa’ Pelari, a retired crime detective who tries to live a peaceful life with her son. But trouble always finds her. In the third instalment of this Netflix series, directed by Alejandro Montiel, Pipa is forced to use her detective skills again when a girl named Samantha is found dead on her property.
Despite being a no-nonsense and no-frills woman, Pipa is not without her humanity. And a large part of the film is centred around her attempt to come to terms with her past as a cop.
Unfortunately, the rest of the plot doesn’t really stand out from other similar thriller movies. The supporting characters essentially serve as archetypes and their outcomes are largely predictable. The climax is also quite disappointing. The movie is not as captivating as the previous two films in the trilogy.
The movie boasts of stunning cinematography and the rocky landscapes are used to great effect. However, the story does not fully take advantage of this natural beauty. There is also an overabundance of clichés that are used in the plot. The film also suffers from an inconsistent tone and a lack of proper connections and transitions.
