Where is the Following Filmed?

November 10, 2023

When you're a fan of a film or show, it can be incredibly exciting to see the real-life locations where the production was shot. And it's especially cool when you can visit one of those locations yourself, letting the experience come to life in your own eyes and ears.

From the suburbs of Detroit to the beautiful hedge maze that houses Cheryl's house, these movie-famous filming locations help paint a picture of Midwestern Americana that enhances the story being told. And if you're in the mood to take a road trip, these filming locations are certainly worth a visit.

A Quiet Place

John Krasinski's acclaimed horror film tells the story of a family trying to survive a post-apocalyptic world where mysterious creatures hunt people by sound. In order to stay alive, the main characters must live as quietly as possible, enforcing the law of silence in their household. This is a must-see for any horror fans and the filming locations make for an excellent day trip.

Sex Education and Deep State actor Alistair Petrie plays conman Rob Chance in this blackly comic drama. He first appears in the series in Oxford, where he poses as a climate scientist and eco-preneur at Gideon College. Filming also took place on the streets of Oxford, as well as the nearby countryside.

The final scenes in the film revolve around a public swimming pool. And the team wanted to capture the eerie atmosphere of this location as they attempted to trap It in the water. This location was filmed at Clawson High School, located in the town of Clawson in Michigan. It's less than 20 miles from downtown Detroit and will take about 20 minutes to reach by car in light traffic.
