John Brown was an American politician. He was a merchant and slave trader as well. Furthermore, the renowned politician, son of Hope Power and James Brown II, was born in Providence, Rhode Island, on January 27, 1736. Also, he was known for founding the Providence Bank in 1791. He remained its first President as well. One of the founders of Brown University, John Brown, passed away at the age of sixty-seven in Providence, Rhode Island. John Brown resided in Providence, RI. Providence is a famous city in Rhode Island. Furthermore, this beautiful place, known for its rich history and culture, is the State's capital city.

The house had more than three bedrooms and two bathrooms with over 2,000 square feet of space. It was the first mansion that was erected in Providence. The very well-maintained historic home, constructed from 1786 to 1788, highlights a different architecture, art, and décor. Its architect was Joseph Brown. He was John's brother.

Furthermore, the home is made up of bricks and consists of three stories. There is a Palladian window in front. The interior is very captivating as well. It reflects the traditional Georgian plan. The woodwork in the rooms is very unique. Probably, there are several original mantelpieces and many furniture items. Moreover, John Quincy Adams said about it, "the most magnificent and elegant private mansion that I have ever seen on this content."
