Mackenzie House is a historic house turned museum. This building has great historic significance in Canada. It is famous as the residence of William Lyon Mackenzie. Mr. Mackenzie was a journalist and politician. He was Scottish, Canadian and American. Isabel Baxter was his wife whom he married in 1822. The politician was born in Dundee, Scotland, on March 12, 1795, and passed away in Toronto, Canada on August 28, 1861. The abode known as "Mackenzie house" was his last home. Where is Mackenzie House?

The house is located in Toronto. Toronto is a superb city in Canada with huge global recognition. Furthermore, the most populous city in Canada, Toronto offers endless job opportunities, high-quality education, etc.

The house probably had more than one bedroom and one bathroom with over 1,000 square feet of space. This well-preserved estate has great historical value. Its architectural style is Georgian. The historic house consists of three stories and has a brick exterior. The residence was purchased in 1858. He also passed away here in 1961. The property was seized after his death because of some issues. Later, a businessman, John Taylor, purchased it. He allowed the family to reside in the house. However, after four years, wife of Mackenzie again bought it.

Now, it's serving as a museum. The museum highlights the lifestyle of the Mackenzie family. It also interprets the late 19th-century furnishings.
