Morris Butler house is a historic building that was originally constructed for John D. Morris. He was an Indianapolis businessman. His family resided here until the 1870s. After that, in 1878, they sold it. The new owner was Noble Chase Butler. Butler's family also lived here for many years. The mansion is named Morris-Butler because of its first two residents.
