Elie Wiesel was a writer and professor. Moreover, he was a journalist, Holocaust survivor, and political activist. He was Romanian-American, born in Sighet, Kingdom of Romania, on September 30, 1928. Mr. Elie was the son of Shlomo Wiesel and Sarah Feig. He acquired multiple awards. For instance, Wiesel received the Congressional Gold Medal in 1984 and the Nobel Peace Prize in 1986. Likewise, he also won the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1992. In 1969, he got married to Marion Wiesel, a translator. He also had a son. His name is Elisha Wiesel, and he is an American businessman. Mr. Eliezer Wiesel passed away at the age of eighty-seven. He died in New York City on July 2, 2016.
