Richest Cities In Connecticut

Connecticut is a small state sandwiched right between NYC and Boston. Between Yankees and Red Sox, Giants and Patriots. With no subway system, no NFL or MLB team, and no specific accent, there's not much Connecticut itself is known for. It does have UCONN (Go Huskies!), Mystic Pizza, (which despite the movie, does not have good tasting pizza), and a ton of insurance companies. And while Connecticut is full of rural, poor, and small towns, when people think of Connecticut they generally think of the wealthy parts. There’s a reason why a lot of highly successful people that work in New York City tend to commute in from a certain area in Connecticut. So, what are some of the richest cities in Connecticut?   1. Darien

With a median household income of $251,200, Darien, CT has roughly 6,759 residents. The prices of homes in Darien range anywhere from $500,000 to $4 million.

  1. Westport

Westport, CT has one of the best school systems in the whole state, as well as being ranked one of the safest. With an average household income of $236, 892 and the average price of houses coming in at $1.5, Westport has also been home to plenty of celebrities. From Paul Newman to Christopher Walken

  1. Old Greenwich

Old Greenwich just sounds like an old money town. The average cost of houses comes in at $1.8 million, with an average household income of $234,152, there are roughly 6,611 residents. Old Greenwich is a part of the town of Greenwich, which has four major beaches on Long Island Sound. It also homes many hedge funds and financial services.

  1. Southport

Southport is another one of those towns that just sounds rich. It has a median annual income of $180,057, with an average house costing $600,000. Southport is a gorgeous coastal town located just over an hour from New York City, which makes it a popular home to many city commuters.

  1. Stamford

Known as "The Corporate City", Stamford, CT is home to major corporate headquarters such as UBS and Pitney Bowes. It also has the largest financial district in the NYC metro area, outside of Wall Street. With an average cost of house coming to $672,000 and an average median household income being $99,791, Stanford is a popular place to live among the wealthy in Connecticut.
